Honorary Member

Eligibility

Honorary membership in the Hong Kong Athletic Trainers' Association (HKATA) recognizes individuals who have demonstrated a deep commitment and/or made exceptional contributions to the advancement on fields of either Athletic Training, Sports Medicine and Sports Science. These contributions should be widely recognized and highly regarded within the field.

i. The recommendation for Honorary Membership is made by the Executive Board based on the

candidate's achievements and impact on the profession.

Ordinary Member

Eligibility

Ordinary Membership is for fully qualified athletic trainers. To be eligible for Ordinary Member, candidates must successfully pass the accreditation examination administered by the Hong Kong Athletic Trainers' Association (HKATA), which evaluates the candidate's knowledge and competency in athletic training.

Associate Member

Eligibility

To be eligible for Associate Member, candidates must be actively practicing professionals in a field related to either athletic training, sports science, sports medicine, or an equivalent discipline.

Student Member

Eligibility

Student Membership is open to undergraduate or postgraduate students who are studying in a field related to athletic training, sports science, sports medicine, or a relevant discipline.

Application

i. Candidates must provide valid documentation, such as a student ID card or proof of enrollment, to

verify their current student status.
ii. Student Membership is valid for one year after graduation. After that period, students are

encouraged to transition to a different membership category based on their qualifications and

professional status.

Annual Membership Fee

1. Honorary members - No Dues

2. Ordinary Member – HKD$200 per year

3. Associate Member – HKD$300 per year

4. Student Member – HKD$50 per year

You can join at any time in the year. All registrations expire and must be renewed by the 1st January each year.
